SERVICES

Skin cytology is performed by looking at samples of the skin's surface under the microscope to determine if there is evidence of bacterial infection, yeast infection, autoimmune cells, cancer cells, etc....

Ear cytology is performed by looking at ear discharge under a microscope for bacteria, yeast, inflammatory cells and ear mites.

Bacterial cultures and sensitivities are performed when the bacterial infection on your pet's skin or in your pet's ears does not respond to first-line antibiotic therapy and Dr. Williamson is concerned about resistant bacterial infections.

Fungal culture (DTM) is performed to check for ringworm - a fungal infection of the hair.
